Called and Gifted
Gain renewed inspiration and focus in your life! Each one of us is called by God and has been given powerful spiritual gifts (charisms). It's exciting to recognize our own gifts and experience the joy that comes from embracing them more fully.
God is calling you to a unique purpose in life, a work of love that only you can do. Look back over your life and see how God has used you already and what God may be drawing you to now. The Called and Gifted Discernment process is a tool to help Christians discern the presence of charisms (spiritual gifts) in their lives. Charisms are special abilities given to all Christians by the Holy Spirit to enable them to accomplish things for God, above and beyond their natural abilities.
You can do this workshop online or in-person or a combination of both. In-person sessions are planned for April 23, 8:30am-11:30am and April 30 8:30am-11:30am at Christ the King Davern Hall. These two sessions have different content so plan to come to both.
There will be a $54 fee charged by the Catherine of Sienna Institute, which covers the costs of materials and online access to the program. We want to encourage everyone to sign up and not let the cost prohibit you. Please register anyway and email Dawn if you would like a scholarship. Email [email protected] or call 913-259-4801 if you have questions.
As part of the program you will do a gifts inventory quiz to look back over your life and see where your spiritual gifts may be. You will receive a workbook to follow through, have the opportunity to do a 1 hour gifts interview to discuss your results, and you will be invited to join a 6-week small group for further discussion, prayer, and discernment. This is optional, but highly recommended as it is a great way to support your exploration and build friendships.
“Do you ever feel too busy to even stop and contemplate what God is really calling you to do? Called and Gifted empowers you to focus your energy on things that are life-giving and let go of things that aren’t. There are so many ways to love and serve God and others, and better discovering your gifts allows you to do this and find great joy in it. By following what brings us joy, we allow the Holy Spirit to be much more effective through us.” - Dawn Grabs
